Opposite the harness is usually a pair of rubber or plastic vertical handles to secure the front of the bubble ball. These harnesses resemble seatbelts with adjustable straps, and they either loop or snap together for a secure fit. Some bubble balls are equipped with a shoulder harness, which helps keep the ball secure when running and bumping. These bubble balls are less popular as they provide inferior cushioning and gameplay experience. The honeycomb style, on the other hand, has a series of interlocking pockets gathered at the seams, so there is less of a bounce-back reaction when players bump into one another. This design feature prevents crushing or collapsing of the walls on impact, so you can bounce away from another player instead of absorbing the shock. Threaded models feature a series of strings inside the ball that aid in the distribution of air and pressure. Constructionīubble balls are generally either threaded or honeycomb in construction. There are some bubble balls produced with a mix of eco-friendly recycled materials as well. The PVC grade varies between models, though higher-quality bubble balls are ultra-thick, non-toxic, and odorless. Generally, bubble balls are sold individually, but there are some manufacturers who package multiple bubble balls together in sets.īubble balls are made of durable plastic, and the more you spend, the better the plastic. Bubble balls are more fun with friends, and it’s advisable to only bump against other bubble balls. Since you never want to bounce alone, it’s a good idea to purchase bubble balls in pairs. Electric air pumps can blow up bubble balls in minutes, so consider getting an electric pump if you’re interested in saving time. Inflationīubble balls require inflation, which means you’ll need an air pump. Bubble balls also have recommended weight classes, which can be tricky when selecting them for teenagers, so pay attention to the weight recommendation as well as height when selecting a size. Larger models are for players between 4’0” and a little over 6’0” in height. Smaller models are for players up to approximately 4’0” tall, so they’re ideal for children and teens. Key considerations Sizeīubble balls are not one-size-fits-all, but they are limited to only a few sizes. However, since you should only bounce against other bubble balls, make sure you avoid accidentally kicking your opponent’s bubble ball. I would LOVE to give this a 5-star, but with an assumed self-imposed crippling of "approved" browsers and lack of apparent UAT testing on the optional activation setting, 2 is the best I will give it.Bubble balls can be incorporated into sports like soccer and dodgeball. Problem is using the "Shift" key to activate doesn't work for email in a web browser because that is the command to open the link in a new tab which will then open the email link in the default email client. OH… and for me I would want to use this on command and not left active all the time. Would have LOVED to open a link in a work email in one of my specific work web app instances of Chrome, but this app falls short. I can only hope this was in an effort to aide the user in only using actual browsers, but there is apparently a set list of Apps it will support and does not give the user to option to "use it anyway". I have seperate instances of Chrome so my main web apps can feel and function more like regular apps and not be stuck somewhere between 2 dozen other tabs which may or may not be for work. For me, I HATE being in TAB HELL (too many tabs for all the web apps). Love the concept of the app, and something that has been a sore spot in my workflow for some time. Great Concept… Needs more work for heavy users Trying to use Calendar with my Exchange account has proven disasterous, so I keep them separate, but still need to move between both at times. Sometimes I click on an invite to add to my work calendar in Outlook/Exchange, and other times I click on an invite to add to my personal calendar in Calendar/iCloud. UPDATE: I have one feature request - add support for calendars. I came across this app as a recommendation from the 9to5 Mac website, and am glad I did. My day-to-day nominal browsing use remains as produtive as ever, and my multi-browser use-cases have gotten so much more efficient. It is quick to install, sits out of the way until you need it, and the UI is so natural and intuitive that in couple of days I’ve been using it, the extra click (to select the browser) has almost become invisible to me. For all those times you needed to check a website in another browser, or even go to the same site without cookies (but not clearing your own), this simple, simple app is amazing.
